๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Well...I knew better

Hello Beautiful!!

Well...I feel like a big idiot ๐Ÿ˜‚

I was in a ZONE yesterday getting things done. You know those days when you're flying through your list and feeling really productive?

That's where I was....๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I KNOW all the things you're supposed to do when you get an email asking for important information. I normally check the sender's email address to make sure it's legit, and if it has anything to do with money or banking, I DO NOT click the link. I go directly to the website and log in from there.

I ALWAYS do this. ALWAYS!!

Except yesterday ๐Ÿ™„

I got an email, wanted to get whatever they were asking for DONE, clicked the link and proceeded to put in our bank account information ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

About 15 seconds later something in my brain finally kicked in and said...ummm, maybe you should've done all those things you normally do because this doesn't feel right.

Well guess what?

SCAM ๐Ÿ˜ญ

And if I'd looked at the email on my PHONE, I don't think I would've even questioned whether it was fake because the preview looked completely wonky ๐Ÿ˜‚

Luckily, I realized what I'd done really fast and immediately called the bank. We closed the account, so everything is okay...but now I have the pleasure of legitimately updating our banking information in about 15 different places.

What a TWO HOUR headache ๐Ÿฅด

I'm not sure there's some profound lesson here because I already KNEW what I was supposed to do ๐Ÿ˜‚ Maybe it's simply another reminder for me to slow down.

I talk all the time about being present and not rushing through life...and then I get so focused on checking things off my list that I hand my banking information to a scammer ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Good job, Kim. ๐Ÿ˜…

So here's my friendly reminder from someone who should've known better: if an email asks you for ANYTHING important, take the extra 30 seconds. Look at the actual email address, don't click their link, and go directly to the website yourself.

And apparently I'm going to take my own advice again too ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ’Œ When was the last time you got something FUN in the mail?

And I don't mean an Amazon package you ordered yourself ๐Ÿ˜‚

I mean opening your mailbox and seeing your name handwritten on an envelope and thinking...Oooooh, what's this??

I really think we've lost some of that. Everything comes through our phones now, and while I LOVE the convenience, there's still something really fun about getting actual mail.

That's the feeling Kalee & I want to bring back with The Hummingbird Post. ๐Ÿ˜

Once a month, we'll send you an actual envelope with a handwritten letter from EACH of us, plus little surprises...maybe a seasonal recipe, faith card, journal prompt, playlist, stickers, stationery, seeds to plant, a crossword...who knows what we'll find. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And I really think this is fun at ANY age. Maybe you remember when personal mail was normal and miss it, or maybe getting a handwritten letter feels completely novel to you.

Either way, we want this to be something you actually look forward to finding in your mailbox.

It's $11/month, including postage and all the goodies, and we're only starting with 50 people because Kalee & I are handwriting these ourselves.

Our first one goes out September 5th, so if you want one, we need your name by August 31st!

I seriously cannot WAIT to mail these. ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿงผ I forgot how STRONG cleaners can smell ๐Ÿ˜‚

Kalee had her house deep cleaned this week, and they brought their own cleaning products.

We had forgotten how strong some cleaners smell!

We've used Hugh & Grace's All-Purpose Cleaning Concentrate for so long that I don't even think about it anymore. It's non-toxic, doesn't have that overpowering cleaner smell, AND it actually works.

My only complaint?

When you get to the bottom of the bottle, you've got to hold your mouth just right to get that squirter to cooperate ๐Ÿ˜‚

You know...like the last inch of shampoo in a pump bottle when you're jiggling it around trying to get three more washes out of it.

Other than my ongoing battle with the squirter, I LOVE this stuff.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Who would YOU ask?

We've got some REALLY fun guests coming to The Kim & Kalee Show in September!!

Joy Bauer is coming on! You probably know Joy as the longtime nutrition and health expert from the TODAY show, and we're really excited to pick her brain about nutrition, wellness, and what women can actually do to feel their best.

And we're also talking with Cathe Friedrich!

If you've been working out at home for a long time, you may already know Cathe. She's been a HUGE name in home fitness and strength training for decades, and Kalee & I are really looking forward to talking with her.

So here's where you come in...what would YOU ask Joy or Cathe if you could sit down with them?

Hit reply and send us your questions!! We may just ask yours during the interview. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

And make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss either conversation.

๐Ÿค A little reflection

I've been thinking about my scammer situation more than I'd like to admit. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I knew better, and I think that's the part that has bothered me the most.

But knowing something and actually remembering to do it in the moment aren't always the same thing, are they?

We know we should slow down, pray about things instead of worrying about them, get enough rest, and stop acting like every single thing on our list has to get done TODAY...but sometimes we still rush right through the very things we already know.

Maybe I didn't need God to teach me something new this week. Maybe I just needed a reminder to practice what He's already been showing me.

"Be still, and know that I am God." โ€” Psalm 46:10

Apparently I needed the "be still" part again this week. ๐Ÿ˜…

Love y'all!!โ€‹

Hello Beautiful!! I've been thinking about something this week... Do you ever feel like we're more connected than we've ever been...and somehow less connected at the same time? We know what people ate for dinner, where they went on vacation and what their kids did on the first day of school ๐Ÿ˜‚ We can like someone's birthday post, send a heart on their story and text them in two seconds. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE all of that. Kalee & I have built an entire business online. We've met some...

Hello Beautiful!! Kalee & I spent part of Wednesday back over at Mom & Dad's house working on the middle bedroom. I'm beginning to wonder if we're EVER going to be ready for this yard sale on September 6th ๐Ÿ˜… Every time I think we're making progress, I look around and think...how in the world is there still this much stuff?? Oh...all the jars & bottles I've finally contacted a realtor to come out and tell us what we actually need to do to the house before selling it and, probably more...
