Hello Beautiful!!I've been thinking about something this week... Do you ever feel like we're more connected than we've ever been...and somehow less connected at the same time? We know what people ate for dinner, where they went on vacation and what their kids did on the first day of school π We can like someone's birthday post, send a heart on their story and text them in two seconds. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE all of that. Kalee & I have built an entire business online. We've met some of our closest friends because of the internet, and I love that I can send Kalee a completely unnecessary meme from next door π But sometimes I wonder if all that convenience has made it easier to keep up with people without actually connecting with them. Those aren't really the same thing, are they? And I'm not saying we all need to throw our phones away and start writing 10-page letters by candlelight π I just don't want convenience to replace connection. The older I get, the more I realize how much the little ways we show people we're thinking about them actually matter. π This is what we want Hummingbird to be...As Kalee & I have worked on the Hummingbird Post, the more I've realized that what we're really hoping to create is a little moment of connection every month. You'll get a personal letter from EACH of us, plus whatever little things we've found to tuck inside...maybe a seasonal recipe, faith card, journal prompt, playlist, stickers, stationery, seeds to plant, a crossword...who knows what we'll find. π But mostly, I hope when you see that envelope with your name handwritten on the front, it feels like someone saying... "Hey, we thought about you."
π What I'm reading right now...I'm reading Twice by Mitch Albom, and I keep thinking...has anyone else read this AND seen About Time with Rachel McAdams?? π They're not the same story, but they have that same "what if you could go back and do things differently?" feeling. I actually started wondering if Mitch Albom got any inspiration from About Time, so of course I had to look it up π I couldn't find anything saying he did. From what I've read, his idea came more from hearing people talk as they got older about the things they wished they'd done differently and wondering what would happen if someone really COULD go back and take the other path. I'm not finished yet, so NOBODY TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS π But I love books that make me think, and this one definitely has me thinking about how easy it is to wonder about the road we didn't take instead of appreciating the people and the life we have right now. I'll report back when I finish it. π Have you heard of the "Wolverine Stack"?OK, this name alone made me curious π We've talked about several peptides over the past few months, but I don't think we've talked about BPC-157 + TB-500, sometimes nicknamed the "Wolverine Stack." And yes...Wolverine as in the superhero known for healing ridiculously fast. π The combination gets a LOT of attention online for recovery & healing. BPC-157 is being studied for things like tissue repair & gut health, while TB-500 is associated with research around tissue repair, wound healing and recovery. I actually used this combo as part of my KLOW stack while I was also working on my gut health, so this one is especially interesting to me. I had a really positive experience during that time and have continued to feel good, but obviously I can't say one particular peptideβor even one particular thing I was doingβwas responsible for that. And that's why I always come back to working with someone who actually knows what they're doing with peptides rather than trying to piece it together yourself from what you see online π If you're curious about peptides too, EllieMD is who we've been working with, and they can help you talk through your goals and whether peptide therapy might be appropriate for you.
ποΈ Are you doing everything "right" and STILL struggling? This week's episode of The Kim & Kalee Show is just Kalee & me, and we're talking about something we hear ALL the time... "I'm doing everything right. Why am I still struggling?" We walk through 3 of the 6 things you might be missing even when you feel like you're checking all the boxes. And because we couldn't leave you hanging with only three π, we also made you a FREE PDF with all 6 so you can go through the entire list yourself. Listen to the episode, grab the free guide and see if there's something you've been overlooking.
π€ A little reflectionI've kept thinking about the notes from Merny (my grandmother) while writing this email. I wonder how many things we do that seem completely ordinary to us but end up meaning so much more to somebody else. I doubt Merny ever mailed one of those newspaper clippings thinking, Kim is going to remember this years from now π She probably just saw something, thought about me, stuck it in an envelope and went on with her day....But I DO remember. And maybe that's a reminder for me that loving people well doesn't always require some grand gesture. Sometimes it's calling because they crossed your mind; sending the card; making the meal; sitting down for a drink; mailing the ridiculous newspaper clipping because you know it'll make them laugh. Sometimes it's simply letting somebody know, "I thought about you today." There's a verse I love that says: "Let all that you do be done in love." β 1 Corinthians 16:14 That's so simple. I don't want to get so busy keeping up with everybody that I forget to actually connect with the people God has put in my life. And I want to get better at letting people know I thought about them while I still have the opportunity. Maybe there's somebody you need to call, text, write or sit down with this week too. Love y'all!!β |

Hello Beautiful!! Well...I feel like a big idiot π I was in a ZONE yesterday getting things done. You know those days when you're flying through your list and feeling really productive? That's where I was....π€¦πΌβοΈ I KNOW all the things you're supposed to do when you get an email asking for important information. I normally check the sender's email address to make sure it's legit, and if it has anything to do with money or banking, I DO NOT click the link. I go directly to the website and log...
Hello Beautiful!! Kalee & I spent part of Wednesday back over at Mom & Dad's house working on the middle bedroom. I'm beginning to wonder if we're EVER going to be ready for this yard sale on September 6th π Every time I think we're making progress, I look around and think...how in the world is there still this much stuff?? Oh...all the jars & bottles I've finally contacted a realtor to come out and tell us what we actually need to do to the house before selling it and, probably more...
